I Can't Wait
Hey Mack and Birk,
Today is your birth-date. I am hanging out with your mama and you are about to enter this world. I just wanted to write you a little note from your daddy. Your mama and I love you so much and we haven't even met you.
I have watched you wrestle with each other inside your mama's tummy. I'm sure this won't be the last time that you guys wrestle it out. Bolt and I can't wait to jump in. I have also spent the last week listening to your little heartbeats. We have spent an entire week at the hospital waiting on your arrival. I am so grateful to God for this time because I know that it has made you stronger. Every single beat is an amazing miracle from God.
As you enter this world, we are thanking God for this amazing miracle. The last 8 months have been filled with crazy excitement. This time has also been filled with a ton of prayers. Gentlemen, I want you to understand something.
You are not ours. You were created by and created for the Lord. He owns you and loves you way more than your Mama and I ever could. He loves you so much that He sent His only Son to die upon a cross in order that you might have a relationship with Him. I have prayed everyday, as I pray for your older brother Bolt, that you might be saved by Jesus Christ. This is a decision that your Mama and I can't make for you, your friends can't make for you, your church can't make for you. This is a decision that is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.
Your Mama and I are super-pumped that God has entrusted both of you to us. We will daily lift both of you up in prayer asking for God to save you and to use you for His glory. I know that God has placed you in this world for His purpose and glory.
I can't wait to watch you play ball with your older brother, I can't wait to watch you play tricks on us because you are identical, I can't wait for the camping trips and beach trips, I can't wait to watch you hug and kiss and take your Mama on a date, I can't wait to watch you fall in love with Jesus, I can't wait to watch you celebrate the Saints 10th Super Bowl win, I can't wait to watch you fall in love, I can't wait to watch you get married, I can't wait to watch you serve the Lord, I can't wait to watch you as a proud daddy of your own kids.......I can't wait.
Mack & Birk, Your daddy loves you! I can't wait for this journey to begin.

"mama ride?"
bolt came to visit me in the hospital today, and the first thing he always asks me is if i wanna ride? well, honestly...not so much, i'd rather not be lifted halfway to the ceiling in my bed and then folded almost in half. i already have trouble stretching my torso out enough to breathe these days. but if that's what will make him laugh for the time i get to spend with him each day, then by all means...i wanna ride. i have missed him so much this week. i've seen him a lot, but not nearly as much as we're both used to. he is so sweet and he always kisses my belly and talks to his brothers. i can't wait until we're all home together. i'm so glad that we've had our family in town this week, rob's mom (duckie) has taken bolt duty for this week. she's doing a great job and he absolutely loves his duckie!! i'm trying to make the most of my quiet alone time...while it still exists:) i'd love to do an online scrapbook of bolt's first 2 years, i'm still searching for the motivation though. and i'm trying to get done with some long overdue thank you notes. i'm thanking God for everyday that these boys can grow in my womb and anxiously awaiting the time that we will get to spend with them on this side. until then...i'm enjoying little moments that make me smile. when i prop up my hospital bed in the middle of the night to heave myself to the bathroom, i hear my precious son's voice say "mama ride?" what a blessing my children are to me...the one that i know and the ones that i haven't met. thank you Jesus for my sweet family.

Have Patience
Annabeth sings this song to Bolt all the time.
"Have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry. When you get impatient, you always start to worry. Remember, remember, that God is patient too. And think of all the times when others have to wait for you."
This song couldn't be more appropriate for the week that we are spending at the hospital waiting on our twins boys. It seems as if Mack and Birk are quite comfortable inside mama. We were told last Thursday that Annabeth could go into labor at any moment. After a weekend of no action, Annabeth went in for a check up and was told that the babies are on their way. Six days later...still no action.
The doctor gave us a great perspective a few days ago. He said that he would rather have the babies inside mama then in the NICU. Great point.
Although this week has been crazy tough, we are completely at peace with God's plan for these boys. Who knows what this week has done for our little dudes?
My buddy Dustin is preaching for me tomorrow. He is preaching on the life of David out of I Samuel and his focus is on Trusting God. Here are his 3 points: 1) Trust the power of God's name. 2) Trust God's sovereignty. 3) Trust God's purpose. / We trust you, Jesus.
Thanks everyone for all the prayers. We will keep you posted on our journey over the next week.
